We carry top designers, including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Andrew Fezza, Stephen Geoffrey, Perry Ellis, Tony Bowls, Jean Yves, Michael Kors and more. You know what you’re getting when you place a rental order with us.

Michael Kors, style Berkeley: A classic tux with an updated fit. The Berkeley tuxedo is tailored in lightweight Venetian Super 130’s wool for the ultimate fit and feel with understated design details, including a narrow grosgrain notch lapel, matching buttons, and grosgrain-trimmed double besom pockets. Tuxedos have a fascinating history. The following informative posts will give you a good accounting of men’s black-tie fashion.

Expanding Appeal

Remarkably, the greatest chapter in the history of evening wear – and arguably menswear in general – is the era marked by the Great Depression.  At a time of extreme financial hardship for so many, the wealthy elite maintained an after-six wardrobe that was not only elegant but sometimes downright decadent.  In 1935 a New York Herald Tribune society writer calculated that a “well-attired” New York gentleman’s evening kit could be worth as much as $4,975 once his jewelry and fur coat were accounted for, the equivalent of a staggering $80,000 today.  It was this glamorous lifestyle that Hollywood capitalized upon when catering to mainstream America’s desire for inexpensive escapism and in the process elevated the tailcoat and tuxedo to iconic status.  Keep reading at Black Tie Guide

This one is from Vanity Fair:

Soon after its “invention,” in 1886, the tuxedo became the ne plus ultra of formal male attire, and little has changed since. See more at Vanity Fair

The Blanco Wedding

Couple: Jefte and Noris Blanco

Wedding Date: May 23, 2015

Location: Deerpond Plantation, Charlotte, NC

The Wedding Dress: Maggie Sottero

Photography: Guillermo Ruiz

More Details: I wanted my wedding to feel like a fairytale, and it did. I loved my dress. It hugged me perfectly. It was simply beautiful — exactly what i wanted. I felt like Cinderella when I came down in the horse-drawn carriage. Our venue, Deerpond Plantation, was absolutely beautiful. We fell in love with it from day one. We both knew it had to be the place where we would receive our blessing. I wanted to feel like I was in a different place and the palm trees and pond made me feel I was somewhere else. We were so happy that our families traveled so far to be with us that special day, and that our closest friends made time to be there with us as well. We feel so blessed to have had our dream wedding.

The Covington Wedding

Couple: Matt and Vanessa Covington

Wedding Date: August 27, 2016

Location: Alexander Homestead, Charlotte, NC

The Wedding Dress: Maggie Sottero, style Mattea

Photography: MPA Weddings

More Details: I love the outdoors, color, texture and messiness. So, I incorporated the bright colors of summer into our ceremony and reception. I wanted the day to be festive and full of energy.

My dress was perfect. I loved the way it fit my body and it gave me room to breath and dance. I loved the romance of the lace, too. The casual style of the low back added a bit of sexiness that was just right.

Here’s Brideside with a closer look at the plusses of a great New Year’s wedding.

There’s always an air of glitz, glam and romance surrounding New Year’s Eve, which may be why there’s nothing quite like a fabulous New Year’s Eve wedding. From fantastic balloon drops to a sky full of fireworks New Year’s Eve weddings pull out all the stops.

One of the things we love most about a New Year’s Eve wedding is the liberties you can take with your bridesmaid dress choices. Whether you are dreaming of an elegant black-tie affair, frivolous metallic event or a fun Great Gatsby-themed wedding, there’s definitely a bridesmaid dress that will fit your look. D’Zage Bridesmaid, style 8051: Chiffon dress with a new york bride groom wedding dress bridesmaid dress rental tuxedo accessories charlotte ncsweetheart neckline. Criss cross ruched bodice, draped pleated overskirt. Available in sizes 0-28. Available in 34 solid colors (black is pictured, right).

Celebrating a Fresh & Fabulous New Year

Like we’ve said, getting married on New Year’s Eve enables you to maximize your sparkle quotient. Besides, what better way to start your new chapter as husband and wife than to correlate your wedding with the dawn of a brand new year. Many couples also enjoy the extra festivity that surrounds this magical time of year, since it brings a heightened sense of joy to everything.

Here’s an interview with Joanna and Dave, a Canadian couple who planned a New Year’s wedding “that no one would forget.”

Why did you choose New Year’s Eve?

We attended a New Year’s Eve wedding for a close family friend in Montreal two years earlier and it was a blast. Everyone was in a great mood, dressed to the nines and excited to begin the New Year on a high note. Over the last couple of years we’d also become de facto New Year’s party hosts, throwing last-minute soirées for everyone that hadn’t gotten around to making plans for the big night. We thought it would be nice to give our friends and family some advance notice and take the pressure off having to make plans themselves!

Did it make it more special to host your wedding on New Year’s?

A winter wedding itself is a special experience. All of the holiday decorations were still up, which lent the occasion an extra-magical feeling. And being the holidays, many of our friends and family from overseas and south of the border were able to make the trip to celebrate with us. Also, as it turns out, five of our guests were celebrating their birthday on NYE, including the mother of the groom, which was even more reason to celebrate.

Would you recommend couples consider December 31st for their wedding ?

Most definitely. While it can be difficult (and a little more expensive) to book a venue because you are competing with everyone who wants to throw a NYE party, it’s worth it to have everyone in such high spirits. Plus, we’ll never be guilty of forgetting our anniversary! Continue reading at The Wedding Co.

Mori Lee Has a Bridesmaid Dress for Every Taste

 Mori Lee Bridesmaid, style 144

At New York Bride & Groom, we understand how vital it is for your bridesmaids to feel confident and radiant as they stand next to you on your wedding day. That’s why we carry a broad selection of designers who have earned their impeccable reputations in the bridal industry. For instance, our exceptional selection of Mori Lee bridesmaid gowns offers something flattering and fantastic for every body type. This makes the collection ideal for brides who want to go the mix-and-match route with their bridesmaid dresses.

new york bride groom wedding dress bridesmaid dress rental tuxedo accessories charlotte nc

Mori Lee Bridesmaid, style 31032

SAME COLOR, SIMILAR STYLES: Not everyone interprets color the same way (kelly green and lime green are technically both green, if you get my drift). So if you want everyone’s outfits to look mostly cohesive, choose a single shade and then stick with it. Set up a Pinterest board with your color choice(s) along with a few dress examples, or send your team a paint swatch with your color. It’ll make it easier for everyone to shop, and it’ll save you from having to answer endless questions about whether your sister’s dress is more blush or bashful.

Pro tip: if you want cohesion without matchy-matchiness, send them one of those multi-color paint swatches that you can get at your local hardware store and assign each person to one of the shades. Those colors are meant to complement each other, so they’re guaranteed to look good together.

DIFFERENT COLORS, DIFFERENT STYLES (AND WHAT THE HELL, LET’S ADD A PATTERN!): You can easily add more variety to the two concepts above, by doing more than one color or adding print options. The key, once again, to keeping things cohesive is making sure there are some points of similarity. For example, you can do all cocktail-length pastel florals. Or a mixture of solids and prints within the same color family. Or all floor length dresses in a combination of teal, maroon, and eggplant. (If you want a mix of colors like this, you might want to assign each person their own color. That way you don’t end up with four out of five friends wearing teal and one person in eggplant feeling like the odd man out.) Since this kind of mismatching is a bit more advanced, just make sure to be realistic about your expectations, and know your crowd. Do you have super stylish friends who love to get dressed up and go out? Or are your people more jeans and t-shirt types? If you have a clear vision in mind, you can totally make the dress shopping process a collaborative one the same way you would if you were taking a more traditional bridesmaid dress shopping route. You know your people best, but it turns out that most wedding teams would rather have direction and get it right than be left to try and figure things out on their own (while worrying they’re going to disappoint you). Continue reading at A Practical Wedding

Personalize and Accessorize

If you have opted for your bridesmaids to wear mismatched dresses to elaborate their individuality and maximize their comfort, remember that New York Bride & Groom offers a myriad of accessories such as sashes, clips, belts and jewelry that can help you harmonize your bridal party with some cohesive pieces. In short, don’t worry — if you’re searching for a way to unite your mix-and-match bridesmaids gowns, our bridal consultants will help you pull the look together.

Short & Sweet or Long & Luscious

We often work with ladies who are attracted to particular dress styles that will showcase some aspect of their physique. If some of your bridesmaids have their hearts set on shorter, cocktail-length bridesmaid dresses, the mix-and-match look will help you balance everyone out.

new york bride groom wedding dress bridesmaid dress rental tuxedo accessories charlotte nc

Mori Lee Bridesmaid, style 135

If you’re the organized type, discuss your bridesmaids’ wishlist ahead of time to help everyone have some direction when they visit our salon. Or, just pile into a car or two and head over. Our experienced and friendly staff will be happy to help guide you through the process, so don’t worry about it. All you need to know is that stunning and affordable dress choices are yours to discover at Charlotte’s top bridal boutique, New York Bride & Groom.

Dress tones can range from the color palette of the wedding, to colorful floral patterns, or even a simple shade of ebony. This trend initially developed from brides desiring for their loved ones to feel great in their dress on the big day and be able to use it at a later date. Shapes in gowns also range, so everyone can find the silhouette that works best for their body type.

The mix-and-match idea can also work in the bride’s favor in another way: the colors can add to the décor scheme and result in creating magical photos due to the variety of tones. If you’re still unsure if this works with the vision for your special day, take a look at this collection of photos we’ve gathered for you that feature bridesmaids in a range of mismatched styles. The Wedding Dress: Allure Bridal, style P935

More Details: My wedding theme was vintage. I didn’t want over the top; I’m a simple person and I felt my wedding matched that. Our DJ, Joey from Split Second Sound, was incredible and he understood us perfectly. What made my wedding special was having family with us from near and far. Everyone danced until almost 1 a.m. It was great.

The Guill Wedding

Couple: Tyler and Sara Guill

Wedding Date: May 14, 2016

Location: Historic Beaver Dam, Davidson, NC

The Wedding Dress: Lillian West, style 6375

Photography: Boonetown Story

More Details: I feel like every bride thinks they had the most amazing wedding. I certainly do. I wanted to have a romantic wedding, where everyone was comfortable and having fun. I wanted an “organic” feel to our day. I didn’t want anything to be too matchy-matchy. My bridesmaids all wore different dresses that were varying shades of pink/nude. I let them pick their own dresses because I wanted them to show their own personal style.

My wedding dress was from New York Bride & Groom. It was a Lillian West and was the second dress I tried on. Every one after it was just anticlimactic. I probably only tried on a total of 8 or 9. I knew that I wanted the Lillian West dress. The detachable tulle skirt, which was romantic and airy, was totally my style. And the fact that the skirt was detachable made it perfect for the reception. When the party started, I took it off and had the more fitted, fun flirty dress underneath. I basically got two dresses in one.

For the ceremony, I wore a beautiful cathedral-length veil. When we had our first kiss it fell off and everyone laughed. A lot of brides would have been mortified, but I actually enjoyed it. It lightened the mood and made things more spontaneous and less “perfect.”

My wedding photographer Nicole was a dream, and captured moments that I wouldn’t have remembered without her. The weather was perfect — just like the entire day was too. I want to relive it again (which is probably why I watch our wedding video way too much — LOL).
