The Williams Wedding

Couple: Eduardo and Diana Williams

Wedding Date: May 7, 2016

Location: Holiday Inn Center City (wedding), Maggiano’s Little Italy South Park (reception), Charlotte NC

The Wedding Dress: Maggie Sottero, style Lorie

Photography: Cliff Nichols

More Details: After a year of planning and doing our best to have the wedding of our dreams — while trying to be reasonable with our limited budget — I have to say that everything turned out better than I could have imagined. We did not have a theme, but our colors were peach and mint/pistachio. I did all the planning and research, but had lots of help from my now husband. All our family is from out of town, so other assistance was limited.

We had our ceremony at the rooftop of the Holiday Inn Charlotte Center City. The weather was perfect. Since we’re both parents, we decided that his children and my child were going to be our groomsmen and bridesmaid. We had about 60 guests between family and close friends. Our reception was in one of the reception rooms at Maggiano’s Little Italy. I have to say that I had no idea they had these until my friend mentioned it to me, but Lord I am so glad we used them. They not only gave us the best options for our budget, but they did fantastic work. The food was delicious, of course, and the service was awesome.

Our photographer was amazing. He took tons of pictures and was very courteous and patient with my side of the family who did not speak much or any English. He was very thorough throughout the planning process and really took care of every detail. He made sure we were aware of the many little things we would have not thought about it, but which made the day easier and the photoshoot smoother.

My dress was Maggie Sottero and the design was Lorie in Ivory. After visiting several places I had started to feel like the dress I dreamed of was not out there. I found lots of beautiful dresses, but just not My Dress. I came across New York Bride & Groom and decided to make a solo trip to the store. Mona helped me with my many picks. She really was wonderful to me, being that I went there by myself. She took the time until I found “The One.” I came back a few times to try it on, and each time I fell more in love with it. The Alterations department was awesome as well. I had a few customizations, including adding a sash and making the dress a bit more fitted. It was more beautiful that I had pictured it. Plus, my husband loved it. Before our wedding, he kept asking me if I was going to get rid of the dress after we were married, but when he saw me in it, he stated, “you are keeping this one.”

We Are Charlotte’s Wedding Tuxedo Specialists

Yes, Tuxedo Specialist is a real thing…and in Charlotte, NC, New York Bride & Groom is tops. So, attention all grooms-to-be, fathers of the brides, ushers and male wedding party members. We have something important to tell you: You deserve to be just as stylish and impeccably dressed as the ladies. That’s why we offer the most outstanding selection of designer tuxedos, including Jean Yves, Michael Kors, Tony Bowls, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, in our dedicated tuxedo rental department.

Tux Rentals Simplified at NYB&G

New York Bride and Groom takes tremendous pride in being a “full-service bridal salon.” Providing exceptional customer service to the groom and the male members of the wedding party is as equally vital as delivering it to the bride and her bridesmaids. Our highly qualified and knowledgeable Tuxedo Specialists are available to take all the guesswork out of finding your perfect tux. For example…

If cost will be an important factor in your wedding formalwear decision, you should know that renting will cost about 10 percent to 30 percent of the price of purchasing a new tuxedo. Retail tuxedo prices begin in the $300 to $500 range but go way up from there. If you attend multiple formal events a year, buying a tux may be worthwhile. But if you’re not the type of guy to hit the black-tie circuit, go for the tux rental. It’s the easiest and most affordable option for you. Via The Knot

The following Heather Grey Savoy number by Jean Yves is a great alternative to black, navy, charcoal and chocolate options. Many groomsmen barely make it through the sweltering ceremony dressed in the traditional darker shades. If your nuptials are taking place in the height of summer, you might want to try on some cooler options.

Up the style quotient in the Heather Grey Savoy tuxedo. Crafted in soft, Super 100’s wool with slim fit styling, the Heather Grey Savoy’s contemporary notched lapels edged in satin add a touch of luxury to this fashion-forward tux. Its light grey color makes it an inspired choice for outdoor weddings. Via Jim’s Formal Wear

Shop In A Dedicated Tux Department

You can enjoy your own spacious area at New York Bride and Groom. Separate from the ladies yet together under one roof, we specialize in providing a cohesive shopping experience for everyone. Maximize your shopping time by teaming up with the gals. While they peruse bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses, you and the rest of the guys can shop at the same time. Just think of all the time and gas you will save. Plus, you’re all together to go out for a bite to eat or a cocktail after.

Taking care of your bridal party’s attire under one roof is just one of the ways NYB&G excels against the competition. Did we mention our super easy online ordering system created specifically for the guys who live out of town? Keeping it simple, organized and affordable is what we do.

In-House Tuxedo Samples

Any bride will tell you that it is easy to fall in love with a picture in a catalog, but reality is often quite different in the changing room. Grooms and groomsmen face this same dilemma. Choosing your wedding attire out of a book without experiencing the tuxedo firsthand is not ideal for a multitude of reasons. The cut of the material, the feel of the fabric and how your choices complement the bridesmaids is not anything you want to leave up to chance.

By the way, it is hard sometimes to distinguish between a tuxedo and a suit. The most noticeable difference between a tuxedo and a suit is often the fabric on the lapel. The lapel on a tuxedo uses satin (the shiny looking fabric) while the lapel on a suit uses the same fabric as the rest. Via Well Groomed
