More Details: Our wedding theme was vintage elegance. My venue was an historic hotel built in the early 1900s that really made the theme come to life. What made our wedding extra special was that it was our five-year vow renewal ceremony and reception. My husband and I got married during graduate school at the courthouse, but we promised to celebrate our fifth year of marriage with an actual wedding.

Since I knew five years in advance that I would be having a wedding, I already knew what type of dress I wanted from looking at different ones throughout the years. I knew I wanted lace, lace, lace! I visited New York Bride & Groom and tried on maybe three or four dresses before “The One.” But when I finally put her on, I said, “This is it.” I didn’t want to take her off at all.

I absolutely enjoyed my special day and wearing my dress was one of the biggest highlights. It truly was the BEST DAY EVER and I wish I could do it all over again!

The Haney Wedding

More Details: My wonderful husband and I had been together for four and a half years before we got engaged. He is an officer in the Marine Corps where he flies the Osprey aircraft. We got engaged December 21, 2014 and planned to hold our wedding after my graduation from graduate school in May 2016. One night in October 2015, he surprised me at school with flowers and said he was getting deployed in January of 2016 and that we either had to push the wedding back to when he returned or move it up. Needless to say, we didn’t want to wait. So, in two months we planned our wedding and had the most perfect day with beautiful weather. We were surrounded by our family and friends who were all able to make it on such short notice. They were so understanding and supportive and it made our special day that much more meaningful.

My dress was absolutely perfect. It had a beaded part around my midsection that looked like snowflakes, which went perfect with our winter wedding. The staff at New York Bride & Groom were so extremely welcoming every time I came in to see or try on my dress. When I explained to them about my husband’s upcoming deployment, they were able to rush my dress and get the alterations done in plenty of time for me to take it all the way to New Jersey for my wedding. I can’t thank them enough that I didn’t have to sacrifice my dream wedding dress for a lesser one that could be done in time for the wedding.

More Details: I really wanted our wedding day to be memorable, not just for Ryan and I but for our closest family and friends. We wanted it to be intimate and romantic, but we definitely wanted to bring on the party too. We love a good dance party so we needed a DJ that could bring our guests to their feet and get the it started. We absolutely loved our wedding DJ, Jeremy with Carolina Sound Wave. He was energetic, funny and he played the best songs to get the crowd moving. Our favorite part of our wedding was certainly the dance floor.

For my wedding dress, I went with a ball gown by Justin Alexander. I originally went to New York Bride & Groom wanting a mermaid gown and said “absolutely not” to the thought of a ball gown. After trying on about ten dresses, however, I decided to try on the ball gown one of the salon consultants recommended. I stepped out in that gown to show my bridesmaids and my mom and they all cried. That was the reaction I wanted. I looked at myself in the mirror and pulled out the train, threw on a veil and I felt amazing. I knew it was the one and I had to have it. I wore it with a beautiful New York Bride custom veil. We also rented the groomsmen’s tuxedos from New York Bride.
